Fatal Accident Being Investigated In Van Buren County

VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO) -- Tests will be conducted on the body of a driver who was killed last evening when he clipped an ambulance on M-43, and rammed three more vehicles over a distance of several miles before flipping his Saturn Vue at a high rate of speed and striking a house near 30th St. They say fog was not a factor in the 9PM crash in Eastern Van Buren County.

Dead is 58 year old Everett Painter, the driver. . No one in the house was injured. One of the other drivers was transported to Bronson Hospital for treatment of back and neck pain. Painter was dead at the scene. The highway was closed for a while last night while the wreckage was removed and deputies investigated.
