NEW YORK (Reuters) - The New York Giants have gone Down Under to sign punter Jy Bond, a former semi-professional Australian Rules footballer.

Bond, 30, was signed by the Miami Dolphins in April but released in June.

He then trained with fellow Aussies Sav Rocca of the Philadelphia Eagles and twice Pro Bowl punter Darren Bennett, the Giants said in a news release on Friday.

Jeff Feagles, a 22-year NFL veteran who is now a free agent, has been the Giants punter for seven seasons.
